Musician and anthropologist, Raúl Rodríguez will talk about the figure of Negro Curro in Andalusia and the afro-caribbean influences of flamenco.
Through archive recordings and the presentation of a new instrument, the Tres Flamenco, a mixture of Tres Cubano and flamenco guitar, this sound conference is proposing a trip back and forth between the historical study and poetic-musical experimentation, in order to understand what gave birth to these new sounds, bringing together historical memory, cultural activism, and the anthropological research of artistic practice.
